Mike Smith's life was crap, living all alone, years after his wife had died and his children had grown up and moved away. Then he saw the commercial for the Daffodil. Far more than other robots, the Daffodil could become anything and everything he wanted it to be. Mike's life is about to change.

I enjoyed the story immensely. Didn't care much for his assault on his son-in-law, bit too much of the all American boy (in his 50's). But I enjoyed the twists - and the scam, but once again I couldn't see women, especially his daughter accepting mummy's replacement, without considerable reluctance. I think it would be the equivalent of daddy announcing he had a blow up doll nowadays. Please don't think this is false praise - I really enjoyed it.
